“Mystery at the lake” is a location-aware Augmented Reality (AR) app designed to engage high school students in an inquiry-based investigation during their visit at the Bishop Lake area, near the Cyprus Center for Environmental Research and Education (CY.C.E.R.E.). The “Mystery at the lake” was designed on the TraceReaders AR platform and it aims to support students’ understanding of ecological concepts related to the lake ecosystem. This presentation provides an overview of the “Mystery at the lake” implementation with high school students.
“Young Archaeologists” is addressed to 3rd and 4th graders; the program takes place at the Neolithic archaeological site of Choirokoitia. As part of the program, students are divided in pairs; each pair is provided with a tablet, equipped with a location-aware Augmented Reality (AR) app. During the AR activity students have the opportunity to participate in a historical, inquiry-based investigation for resulting in an evidence-based decision in relation to the guiding question: Why people from Neolithic era have chosen Choirokoitia to build their houses?
From 27-30 June 2016, the MCL Research Group enacted a four-day workshop which was addressed to primary school children. Children were invited to develop their own digital stories on waste management, employing Scratch Jr.
